8 Week Course

Course Summary

Stressors are inevitable and usually out of our control, however, how we perceive and cope with our stress can change the way we experience day to day overwhelm, difficult times, and overall quality of life.  This 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course is adapted from the curriculum of Jon Kabat- Zinn.  In 1979 Kabat-Zinn a professor of medicine, founded the Stress Reduction Clinic and Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and his curriculum has been used as the basis for hundreds of studies showing the numerous benefits of a Mindfulness Practice.  

Each week a new topic and meditation will be introduced to assist with the practice and understanding of living in the present moment.

  • How to begin and maintain a meditation practice (hint: anyone can meditate and you can't do it wrong)
  • The scientific evidence supporting the many benefits of practicing mindfulness

Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings beginning April 24th at 7:00 pm for 8 weeks with the last class on Wednesday June 12th.

All classes are held at Shea Tree Wellness 1239 Manahan Avenue in Winnipeg.    

Course Curriculum

Wendy Malko

Wendy is a certified Positive Psychology Coach, Mindfulness Facilitator and Energy Healing Practitioner.  She is also a Qualified Instructor of Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training through the Mindful Eating Training Institute.  Wendy is a strong advocate for practicing mindfulness as she has seen the many benefits in her own life.  Her passion for helping others reduce stress and anxiety and create a life they love is evident in her private sessions and group workshops and classes.  

Wendy has a very natural calmness and genuineness that makes her clients feel at ease, relaxed and in a good place to share anything that is concerning them.  I would highly recommend her to others.
