Energy healing works with the body's subtle energy system or chakra system. Energy healing has been practiced all over the world in many different cultures for centuries. The premise behind energy healing is that all living things have energy flowing through and around them. This energy body holds information in regards to our physical and emotional well being. When this energy is flowing freely and balanced through the chakra system, we also feel balanced and aligned. When a practitioner is working with a client they hover their hands over different areas of the body, much like acupuncture points, allowing the energy to flow more freely and also gaining intuitive information that can assist in the well being of the client. These sessions are deeply relaxing allowing the body to be in an ideal state for healing. Many clients report feeling very rested, lighter, and many times energized after a session.
Coaching sessions can be tailored to your needs using positive psychology, mindfulness or a combination of both.
Positive Psychology is the study of what makes us thrive. We are already perfect just as we are and by uncovering our values and character strengths we can make decisions in our lives that resonate with who we truly are. We focus on what is going right and use these positive feelings to empower us to identify what we most want and how to make changes to attain it. You already have all the answers. My job is to help you clear away all the cobwebs so that you can clearly see what you need, create a plan and provide the support and accountability you will need to follow through.
Mindfulness is the practice of being present. It is noticing our thoughts and then gently bringing our attention back to the present moment. Our thoughts create our emotions and our thoughts are simply our own perception. When we become more aware of our thoughts we are better able to question those perceptions and in turn, regulate our emotions. Much of what we worry about is our own imaginative thought. Most of our worries never actually happen, however our brain cannot differentiate between what is real and what we are thinking. Our emotions trigger various chemical reactions in our body, most notably the stress response. When we are in a constant state of worry or overwhelm, the stress reaction in our body can cause serious health problems such as high blood pressure, heart disease, digestive issues, lowered metabolism, aches and pains, poor memory, etc. A regular practice of meditation and living mindfully can regulate the stress response making it easier to cope with stressors. Being mindful of our thoughts throughout the day allows us to re-frame them in the moment, preventing long term worry and stress on our body and mind.
